ScreenTourism.com is a sister company to The Tourism Business, and was the first marketing consultancy unit in the UK to specialise in the fast-growing sector of film and television tourism. Directed by Martin Evans and a group of key associates with expertise in the tourism and media sectors, ScreenTourism.com offers a full service for destinations, attractions and other businesses who wish to exploit marketing opportunities through appearing on screen - including film tourism strategies, location marketing, movie maps, apps and websites, and destination PR and promotions.

A former director of Yorkshire Tourist Board and Yorkshire Screen Commission, Martin has written five definitive Insights market reports for VisitBritain on this subject, and has worked internationally in the sector with regional tourist boards, local councils, and hotels and attractions.

As well as running Europe’s largest film tourism conference (the London International Film Tourism Conference) at BAFTA in 2007 and 2011, ScreenTourism.com’s projects in film tourism have included working with Yorkshire TV to promote North and West Yorkshire through the screen heritage of series like Emmerdale, Heartbeat, Last of the Summer Wine and Brideshead Revisited.

The agency has also worked on a film locations audit for England’s North Country, and an international website for the north of England to co-incide with the “Miss Potter” film starring Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. Perhaps Martin’s most unusual job was a marketing brainstorm with Working Title Films, the producers of the big-screen “Thunderbirds” movie to help calculate the potential for attracting tourists to “Tracy Island”!
